How to set up and run Advanced Treatment Analysis
Overview:
Use of Advanced Treatment Analysis (ATA) is useful when you want to run a treatment analysis on a group of farms and fields with similar layers with treatments, harvest and even planting fieldops. Depending on the layers used a layer can be produced displaying the yield per region/polygon used in the analysis.
Requirements:
- Fields with Harvest Field Ops that are correctly linked.
- Layers with Treatment or Variety Regions
- If needed, Planting FieldOps that are linked (using this feature can add Planting Date and Variety to the analysis).
Process:
Creating an Advanced Treatment Analysis Script
You will first want to create a script that you will be able to run in batch mode at a higher level (Farm or Grower).
- Select a Field or Cropzone that is representative of the fields/cropzones that you will run the script for the domain.
- Select Tools > Advanced Treatment Analysis
- Highlight <New Script>, and if there is a Harvest Op in the cropzone, the Open icon should activate and click it to open the Script Editor.
- In the Script Editor, on the Treatments tab, set the Boundary Buffer. This clips the treatment area inside the cropzone the desired width. Useful when you want to eliminate data in the headlands or at the edges of boundaries.
- On the left, check the boxes next to the layers you want to include in the ATA, you may also set a Buffer which will clip inside the treatment areas the desired number of feet. Again, useful if you want to exclude any possible data contamination from other regions.
- On the right is a list of selected attributes. Highlight the layer on the left to display it's attribute list on the right. Click on as many attributes as desired.
- Once you have the layers and attributes selected, you can choose to Require harvest or seeding ops in the report. The default is to Require Harvest. Check if you want to include seeding (which adds variety, seed population, and planting date to the report). Check if you want to be able to run this report on any commodity (leave unchecked if the report is commodity specific).
- To set the filters for the field op data, click on the Filters tab.
- There are options for Min and Max Yield, Minimum region areas, and speed change/acceleration (in percent).
- Save the Script, name it, and select the domain level where the script can be run (specific grower or higher)
- You may click Preview to run the scrip on that specific field to see if any edits need to be made on the script. If so, make necessary changes and Save the script.
Running and Advanced Treament Analysis Script
Once a script is made, you can run the Script on a desired domain.
- Select the Field, Farm, or Grower level you want to run the script.
- Select the script to Run and click on the Run icon.
- On the Run screen you have the option to choose to save the layer (default layer name is script name), and if you want to overwrite a previously run treatment analysis.
- You then have the option to save the ATA to your computer to send to another database or system as a shapefile. You have the option to save each file individually OR save them all as one file.
- Click OK to run the ATA.
**NOTE: Check Allow any Commodity to overwrite the script to run on any commodity. Check Run at Server to allow the analysis to run in the background for you to continue working.
