Layer Export

Overview:

Layer Export is a useful to if a layer in AgStudio is needed in another system.

Requirements:

• Valid Layer with attributes in AgStudio

Process:

You can export out a single, specific layer; OR a group of layers of a certain type, name, etc.

We will start the process, then explain the filters on the larger export.

To export a single, specific layer:

1. Highlight the layer to be exported on the domain tree.
2.     Right-Click on the layer, select Export >  Export Layers.
   • Output Format - select the desired format needed for the other system. (Shapefile is most common).
   • Output Folder - select the location on your computer where the file(s) will be exported.
   • Layer name Template - select the desired template/filename of the exported files.  NOTE:  "\" are new folders and "-" are filename extensions.
3. Click Export to export the layer to the desired location.

If you want to export multiple layers at one time, click on the desired domain the group of layers to be exported.  Crop zone, Field, Farm, or the Entire Grower.

1. Right click on the Domain and select Export > Export Layers
2. The Output section will be the same as shown before.
3. For the filters:
   • Layer Name - Enter a specific layer name as it's seen if you want a specifically named group of layers, if name does not matter leave blank or with the ".*"
   • Layer Type - Select the desired layer type from the list if you want to export layers of a specific layer type (this is useful if say, you want ALL soil test results).
   • Check the appropriate box of field or crop zone where the layer is located.
   • Checking the Domain Hierarchy box is not necessary, just adds Grower/Farm/Field Info to a shapefile (useful with soil tests).
   • TIP:  If you are doing multiple layers at one time suggested practice would be to use some form of fieldname - layer name template to keep the layers separate in the Layer Name Template.
4. Confirm your Output settings as described in the beginning (file type, location, and template).
5. Click on Export to export the layers to the desired location.
