How do I subscribe to Satellite Imagery?
Overview:
Satellite Imagery, which is available at the crop zone level, is most useful for agronomists to help them identify areas on a field that require additional scouting. The imagery provides the Crop Health Index (CHI) and True Color for the field.
The CHI has a theme that indicates yellow as an area with poor CHI while healthy CHI is represented in darker shades of blue. The colors in this theme are normalized for each field. Similar to the Crop Health Index, you can also view the True Color of a given image. This can help to establish reasoning for what might appear as lower producing areas; for example, cloud cover on the particular day being viewed can skew the CHI. From the Properties pop up, you can choose to view either CHI or True Color; choosing between the two may help you note differences more readily.
Process:
Subscribe Crop Zone
- To either compare or import imagery, you must subscribe the selected crop zone.
- Layers > Satellite Imagery > Subscribe CropZone
- If you attempt to compare or import imagery for crop zones that have not been subscribed, a pop up dialog displays with information pertaining to your current subscription and provides the ability to subscribe that crop zone.
- Once a crop zone is subscribed, you can compare images from multiple dates, and import the selected imagery to create a Satellite Imagery layer in the Resources tree.
- If your available balance is not high enough to support subscribing a crop zone, contact your AgStudio sales representative or call 1.833.933.1733 (Option 2).
Subscription Status
The Available Acres that you have for importing imagery changes each time a new crop zone is subscribed.
- To keep track of your Available versus Purchased Acres, use the Review Subscribed vs. Purchased Acres icon to display the Subscription Status, which identifies Purchased Acres, Subscribed Acres, and the Available Balance of acres.
- If your available balance is not high enough to support subscribing a crop zone, contact your AgStudio sales representative or call 1.833.933.1733 (Option 2).
